Weekend Fun

Well, I decided that I wanted to plant a garden, but we have so many random animals running around in the backyard that I didn't want to plant it somewhere without protection.  So, I bought some containers at Big Lots and vowed to myself to paint them.  I painted them on Friday before we went to the lake and then got the veggies planted Sunday when we got back.  Fingers crossed that they will produce!

We had a fun time at the lake - the weather was beautiful!  Friday night, we decided to splurge since we have been eating pretty healthy - we are both down about 5 lbs which is a huge success!  However, let me just tell you when you enter your Mexican dinner and it comes up to 63 points, you better get back on the "grilled chicken wagon" pretty quick!

There was a workday around the condo complex on Saturday morning, but I wasn't taking any chances with my knee so I worked inside our condo while Barrett slaved away with everyone else!  We rewarded ourselves with a nice boat ride which even Belle got to enjoy!

Mom got us this great holder for all the pool toys and the water is looking fantastic!  I know the kids will be in it just as soon as they get home!

Belle & Her Bows

Belle went to the groomer today and came home with bows ;-)  It didn't take her too long to rip one off; they were precious while they lasted!

Weight Watchers Continues

So, I'm plugging along with the Weight Watchers thing ... basically, I am allowed 23 points a day which isn't alot, but there are alot of 0 point foods like chicken breast and turkey breast - and most  fruits and vegetables!  So, last night, I had a 0-point dinner and today, I had a 5 point lunch!  Not too bad!

This Old Dog & Her New Tricks

Well, I have gained some weight since I have been pretty sedentary with the knee so I kicked off my "healthy eating, weight watchers" kick today!  Started the day off with a smoothie and then made some delicious Brussel Sprouts for lunch ... I am 43 years old and just tried Brussel Sprouts for the first time last week when Krista ordered them at dinner!  She sent me a yummy recipe that calls for you to drizzle reduced balsamic vinegrette over them ... and I was impressed!

Back at the lake

Well, it was a beautiful weekend and the kids were dying to get back to the lake - they haven't been there in forever.  The water was chilly, but that didn't stop them.  And, of course, having Belle there made them smile even bigger!

Joyce's Glider

Last year, Barrett's dad stopped by for a visit and he had an old rusty glider in the back of his van.  He mentioned that he didn't have any plans for it and Joyce made the comment "Oooh, I have always wanted one of those!"  Well, lo and behold, about a year later, I finally got around to repainting it!  It's amazing what a couple cans of spray paint can do!
