SEC Championship

Well, after a terrific year on the field, Georgia won the SEC East and was set to play Alabama in the SEC Championship.  We all remember what happened the last time we played Alabama in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta ... it didn't turn out too good for UGA - after blowing a huge lead and losing the National Championship Game to Bama's backup Quarterback!  So, I really don't think many of us had high hopes, but we couldn't not go.  So, Matt, Krista, Barrett, & I headed down to Atlanta on a rainy Saturday to watch the Dawgs play!

It ended up that the Marriott Marquis, where we were staying, was the UGA Team Hotel so we were able to get a quick picture snapped in front of the fanfare!  Our seats weren't too bad either!

And, just like last time, we led Bama throughout the first half and had basically shut down Tua.  But in the 3rd quarter, he went down with another ankle injury and his backup, Jalen Hurts, who we actually had shut down in the National Championship Game came in as his replacement and led them to another victory.  So frustrating!  Dawgs were picked to play in the Sugar Bowl against Texas on January 1st.  Needless to say, I have said time and time again that the only way I will be heading to New Orleans is if UGA is playing for the National Championship so I will be watching it from home this year - especially since nothing could really top our epic adventure out to the Rose Bowl last year!
