Well, I was playing tennis yesterday at Furman indoor courts in a mini-season trying to get everyone ready for the Spring season. I was playing with Angie Hill and was actually playing pretty good for me... needless to say, about mid-way through the 2nd set, I heard my knee pop and then I hit the deck. I couldn't put pressure on it and Furman didn't have a wheelchair so I stopped play on the other 3 courts and hobbled off pushing a ball cart ;-)
I called Dr. Tom from the courts and he suggested that I have Barrett take me to the Steadman Hawkins' after-hours clinic last night so we spent date night there getting x-rays and having it checked out. By then, I could put weight on it and there was no swelling so the Dr. assessed it as a "really bad sprain". She said to use the rest and ice approach to see how it does.
I woke up with pretty swollen today so we'll see what the ultimate verdict is. Dr. Tom said to give it through the weekend and just keep resting and icing it! Fingers crossed!
